Yeah, don't get me started on the absolutely pathetic fanbase that the films have attracted. As much as it pisses me off that something dear to my heart is being bastardized as a 'cultural phenomenon', i refuse to keep from enjoying it on that account. I saw the trailer for the 2nd of the series like i'm sure the majority of the population did. It's my least favourite book of the 4, but i'm just biased against jacob. Loved every one of the books, but New Moon had very little of the subject matter i even began reading the series for in the first place. No doubt, it's incredible, and i can't wait until november so i can see the movie. Besides, they have to get it over with to move onto Eclipse. I'll be more enthusiastic about that one when it comes.
Honestly, don't even get me fucking started on how stupid and overrated it is. trust me, the overkill and swarm of mindless media sucking children are just embarrassing. But i'm not ashamed to be obsessed. quite honestly, in a more healthy and less obnoxious way, i would bet money that i'm even more obsessed than any one of the preteen girls are. i'm actually not interested in who they cast for what part, or how attractive the fucking characters are. yes, they did a goddamn good job, but appreciate a story for its story, and not the damn film they're mass producing and cramming down your throats. This comes back to my absolute rage when the things people appreciate and have a close connection to, are raped in the face this way.
Here's to the people who have their own taste, their own interests, their own personal preferences- and haven't allowed the vast majority to dictate any of it.
But seriously, New Moon. Bring it on.
